Rootstech 2014

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day at the Rootstech Family History conference in SLC. Mike knew I would benefit from a day to myself and we have really been getting into family history lately, so this was just the ticket.  It was incredible!  The Rootstech Conference is a few days long and people come from all over the world  to attend.  I just went the last day.  I heard amazing talks and attended great classes.  There was an entire portion of it dedicated to the youth and getting them excited about family history.  John Bytheway spoke, Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman) spoke.  There were General Authorities.  It was so inspiring and motivating.  My favorite quote I heard emphasized a lot was this from Elder Bednar:
As you respond in faith to this invitation, your hearts shall turn to the fathers. The promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be implanted in your hearts. Your patriarchal blessing, with its declaration of lineage, will link you to these fathers and be more meaningful to you. Your love and gratitude for your ancestors will increase. Your testimony of and conversion to the Savior will become deep and abiding. And I promise you will be protected against the intensifying influence of the adversary. As you participate in and love this holy work, you will be safeguarded in your youth and throughout your lives.
I just love that last part.  Protected against the intensifying influence of the adversary...safeguarded in your youth and throughout your lives.  Who doesn't want that for their children and themselves?  Mike has started to teach Carter indexing.  It's really something big around our place lately.  You should probably come next year.  It will be February 12-14.
